An experienced Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist is needed for a contract opportunity in Waterford, MI. This role involves assisting Radiologists with invasive diagnostic procedures to evaluate various pathologies. As an essential member of the imaging team, you will operate specialized equipment and provide hands-on support during IR procedures ensuring patient safety and high-quality imaging outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for invasive imaging procedures by explaining the process and gathering relevant medical history.
  • Set up sterile equipment, physiological monitors, pressure injectors, and imaging technology as per protocols.
  • Assist physicians during IR procedures, including emergent cases and complex interventions such as embolization and neuro interventions.
  • Manage contrast media, medications, and IV administration accurately.
  • Perform Quality Assurance and ensure compliance with radiation safety standards using ALARA principles.
  • Utilize PACS and RIS systems to ensure proper image quality, study indexing, and accurate documentation in medical records.
  • Monitor patient condition before, during, and after procedures.
  • Participate in training new personnel or students.
  • Maintain inventory and replenish necessary supplies.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in IR procedural settings with scrubbing in on cases alongside physicians.
  • Experience in IR labs and performing emergent cases, embolization, and neuro interventions is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Siemens equipment and CT spin operation is a plus.
  • ACLS certification is desirable.
