This role involves setting up equipment, positioning patients appropriately, and ensuring all examinations comply with regulatory standards such as FDA/MQSA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain complete clinical histories and assess for contraindications.
- Ensure proper patient identification with correct marker placement.
- Review radiographic images for clinical acceptability.
- Respond promptly in emergency situations utilizing critical thinking skills.
- Assist other technologists across modalities as needed.
- Maintain patient privacy, comfort, and safety throughout procedures.
- Operate and maintain imaging equipment according to safety protocols.
- Participate in departmental and hospital-wide education and training.
- Ensure compliance with quality control and accreditation standards.
- Perform clerical support duties to maintain workflow continuity.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Licenses and certifications required upon hire: ARRT Mammography (ARRT-M), ARRT Radiography (ARRT-R), and Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Minimum 1-year experience as a Radiologic Technologist with at least 1 year in Mammography preferred.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, physicians, and healthcare staff.
- Ability to function independently while maintaining teamwork.
- Detail-oriented with excellent multitasking capabilities.
- Knowledge of anatomy, pathology, and radiation protection pertinent to mammography.
