A healthcare opportunity in Jersey City, NJ is available for a Mammography Technologist on a contract basis. This role focuses on performing mammography examinations that adhere strictly to American College of Radiology (ACR) requirements, while providing essential support in breast imaging diagnostic procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic and screening mammograms on adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients efficiently and professionally.
- Assist with breast ultrasound, stereotactic biopsy, breast localization, and other radiologic guided procedures in the Breast Center.
- Conduct mammographic imaging for breast needle localization and stereotactic procedures, including set up and clean up.
- Operate imaging equipment, provide immobilization devices, and select appropriate technical factors tailored to individual patient needs.
- Carry out quality control procedures such as phantom imaging, screen-film contact tests, processor quality control, and document results to comply with ACR, MQSA, NJ State, and FDA regulations.
- Educate patients on breast self-examination (BSE), pre- and post-procedure instructions, and assist with compiling relevant patient statistics.
- Maintain precise documentation regarding patient information and quality assurance in the Breast Center chart.
- Adapt care delivery based on patient-specific needs, including age, culture, language, and ability considerations.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Demonstrated expertise in mammography imaging and related procedures.
- Knowledge of quality control measures and regulatory guidelines for mammography.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation and organizational skills.
