This opportunity is for a skilled MRI Technologist to support a dynamic radiology department in Chapel Hill, NC. This travel position requires hands-on expertise with advanced MRI technology, and offers a chance to work in a high-acuity acute care environment serving patients across all age groups.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and perform MRI exams on a variety of patient populations, including infants, pediatrics (with and without sedation), adults, and geriatric patients
- Conduct specialized imaging of MR conditional devices such as pacemakers, ICDs, and other implants using SAR and B1+RMS guidance, carefully manipulating parameters to meet safety protocols
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to manage ventilated ICU patients and those requiring anesthesia during imaging
- Utilize expertise on GE Architect 3T, GE Artist 1.5T, and Siemens Sola 1.5T wide bore scanners to deliver high-quality images
- Follow established safety and compliance standards in an acute care, trauma-level 2 facility
- Participate in varied shift schedules including 3x12-hour night shifts (7p-7a), Friday through Sunday coverage, weekend rotations, holiday shifts, and back-up on-call duties
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years MRI experience, preferably in an acute care hospital setting
- Certification as a registered MRI Technologist with ARRT or ARMRIT
- Proven experience operating GE and Siemens MRI scanners
- Proficiency in EPIC electronic medical record system
- Skilled in pediatric sedations, anesthesia-related MRI procedures, and scanning of MR conditional implants
- Availability and flexibility for weekend and night shifts, with a commitment to punctuality and attendance standards
