An opportunity is available for an experienced MRI technologist to join a well-equipped hospital providing comprehensive imaging services including MRI, X-Ray, CT, Ultrasound, Interventional Radiology, and Nuclear Medicine. This contract role offers the chance to work a weekend schedule in a facility known for specialized centers such as a Chest Pain Center, Stroke Center of Excellence, and Bariatric Center of Excellence.

Responsibilities include verifying exam orders, properly preparing patients with explanations and medical history interviews, performing MRIs with anesthesia as needed, and evaluating image quality. You will administer IV contrast per protocol, perform patient care functions, and follow infection control practices. Interaction with various patient types across Emergency, Inpatient, Observation, and Outpatient units is expected, including pediatrics and cardiac imaging.

Qualifications:

  • ARRT (R) or NMTCB certification, ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT required
  • BLS certification
  • Minimum 1 year MRI experience; first-time travelers are welcome
  • Proficient in using EMR (EPIC), RIS (Epic Radiant), and PACS (Philips iSite)
  • NC State licensure not required

Scheduling and Benefits:

  • Weekend position; will work all weekends
  • No on-call or callback required
  • Travelers will work approximately 75% of holidays

  • Administrative onboarding and departmental orientation provided

The facility supports staff with guest services, transport, child life services, and a tech assistant overnight. Equipment includes a GE 1.5T SIGNA Artist 450W and Siemens 3T Skyra for advanced imaging.
