A healthcare facility in Charlotte, NC, seeks a skilled MRI Technologist for a contract position with weekend and holiday work requirements. This role provides an opportunity to utilize expertise in MRI imaging within a busy, multidisciplinary radiology department that serves emergency, inpatient, outpatient, and observation patients.

Key responsibilities include verifying imaging orders, preparing and educating patients for MRI procedures, administering IV contrast following protocols, and ensuring the quality of diagnostic images. The technologist will collaborate with radiologists on case evaluations and provide basic patient care, including managing any changes in patient condition. Pediatric and cardiac imaging is performed, sometimes requiring anesthesia support.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • ARRT(R) or NMTCB certification, ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT required
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Minimum of 1 year of MRI technologist experience
  • Ability to perform invasive procedures following infection control standards
  • Strong patient communication and history-taking skills
  • Experience with EMR (Epic), RIS (Epic Radiant), and PACS (Philips iSite) preferred

Schedule and Requirements:

  • Weekend position, working all weekends
  • Travel professionals will work approximately 75% of holidays
  • No on-call or floating duties
  • Shift times vary; scheduling cycles every 4 weeks
  • Scrub color: black; free parking available
