This opportunity calls for a skilled MRI technologist with experience in imaging to support a busy, trauma level III teaching hospital in Charlotte, NC. As a contract position, this role involves working 12-hour night shifts with a schedule that supports a consistent workflow and patient care continuity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify and examine imaging requests and patient orders; consult radiologists or ordering providers when discrepancies arise
  • Prepare and educate patients on MRI procedures using two patient identifiers; conduct thorough patient interviews and review clinical histories from EMR systems
  • Perform MRI exams from start to finish, ensuring technical quality and safety; administer IV contrast per protocol
  • Provide basic patient care, monitor patient condition, and initiate life support measures when necessary
  • Adhere to infection control and safety policies during invasive procedures

Desired Qualifications:

  • ARRT(R) or NMTCB, ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT certification
  • Current BLS certification
  • Minimum of 1 year MRI technologist experience; first-time travelers considered
  • Experience with pediatric and cardiac imaging a plus
  • Knowledge of EPIC, Epic Radiant, and Philips iSite PACS systems beneficial

Schedule and Work Environment:

  • 12-hour night shifts (1900-0700), 36 hours per week
  • Weekend rotation as needed; no on-call required
  • Holiday work approximately 75% of the time
  • Black scrub dress code; free parking available
