MRI Tech in Charlotte, NC

A healthcare facility in Charlotte, NC is seeking a skilled medical imaging professional to provide MRI services on a contract basis. This role focuses on delivering high-quality MRI examinations in a fast-paced inpatient and outpatient environment, supporting patient care with precision and safety.

Primary responsibilities include verifying and ensuring proper exam orders, preparing and educating patients, conducting thorough imaging procedures, and collaborating with radiologists for image evaluation. You will administer IV contrast per protocol, maintain patient safety and infection control, and operate advanced imaging technology including a GE 1.5 SIGNA MRI. The role requires adherence to MRI safety standards and the ability to assist other medical personnel during procedures.

This 12-hour daytime shift schedule runs Wednesday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM, with no on-call, weekend, or floating requirements. Coverage during holidays will be expected at approximately 75%. New travelers to this type of role are welcome.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year MRI technologist experience
• ARRT (R) or NMTCB, ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience with patient preparation and IV contrast administration
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and medical team members
• Familiarity with electronic medical record systems (EPIC preferred)
