A skilled Nuclear Medicine technologist position is open on a contract basis in Alpharetta, GA, offering an opportunity to perform advanced diagnostic imaging procedures with a focus on patient safety and quality results. This role demands technical expertise, independent judgment, and excellent patient interaction capabilities to deliver top-tier nuclear medicine services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform nuclear medicine exams following departmental protocols to ensure quality diagnostic imaging.
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals safely, adhering to established procedures and patient privacy standards.
  • Verify correct patient identity and procedure orders prior to imaging.
  • Maintain and operate imaging equipment, troubleshoot issues, and ensure infection control standards.
  • Prepare and position patients appropriately for procedures, providing clear explanations to reduce anxiety.
  • Collaborate with physicians, respond to emergencies, and assist other modalities as needed.
  • Document procedures accurately, maintain quality control, and participate in departmental education efforts.
  • Support patient throughput, including coordination with mobile PET imaging vendors.
  • Take call as necessary and comply with all organizational policies and regulatory standards.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Graduate of an AMA-approved Nuclear Medicine program.
  • Minimum 2 years of nuclear medicine experience with clinical expertise.
  • Certification as CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) is required.
  • Proficient in nuclear medicine camera operation, especially Philips ADAC Forte.
  • Experience with Epic and PACS systems.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to provide patient education and work collaboratively in a team.
  • Capable of mentoring fellow technologists and handling a fast-paced work environment efficiently.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (Day Shift).
