A healthcare role is available in Decatur, GA, seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine technologist to deliver safe, age-appropriate diagnostic imaging services. This contract position requires a professional capable of independently performing a wide variety of nuclear medicine exams, demonstrating sound judgment, technical expertise, and patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify correct clinician orders and patient identification; obtain thorough clinical histories.
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals following strict protocols to ensure patient safety.
- Prepare and position patients for procedures; utilize sterile techniques and venipuncture skills.
- Monitor patient status, communicating and escalating as necessary to physicians.
- Operate and maintain nuclear medicine equipment, ensuring quality diagnostic images.
- Perform quality control measures and documentation per department and regulatory standards.
- Assist colleagues across modalities, mentor staff if needed, and participate in departmental training.
- Manage patient scheduling, workflow, and clerical duties to maintain efficient department operations.
- Comply with all health system policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, including emergency response readiness.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program with at least two years' clinical experience.
- Certification as CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Proficiency with Philips ADAC Forte imaging systems, Epic, and PACS required.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with vendors, including mobile PET imaging providers.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, multitasking capability, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
