This opportunity is for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist specializing in radiology, located in Saint Peters, MO. The role involves utilizing advanced imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images that assist in patient care. The position is contract-based, offering a consistent daytime schedule of 5 days per week, 8 hours per day, with 36 guaranteed weekly hours and occasional weekend availability as needed.
Responsibilities include operating nuclear medicine cameras to detect and map radioactive tracers within the body, accurately positioning patients, and selecting appropriate technical settings. The technologist will order, prepare, administer, and safely handle radiopharmaceuticals following strict protocols and radiation safety guidelines. Timely submission of high-quality diagnostic images and proper documentation within the imaging system (PACS) is essential.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of nuclear medicine imaging experience
- Familiarity with radiopharmaceutical preparation and administration
