A clinical opportunity is available for a Nuclear Medicine technologist with strong imaging skills in nuclear medicine to provide diagnostic imaging services. This position operates independently in a fast-paced environment, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and quality diagnostic outcomes through the performance of nuclear medicine procedures.

Location:
Based in Stone Mountain, GA, this role offers access to a vibrant community known for its outdoor activities, cultural attractions, and proximity to metropolitan amenities, providing both career and lifestyle benefits.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday
  • 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct nuclear medicine exams using independent judgment and technical expertise to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Prepare equipment and position patients appropriately while ensuring their comfort and privacy during procedures.
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and monitor patients before, during, and after procedures.
  • Verify clinician orders, patient identity, and gather clinical history to prevent contraindications or errors.
  • Review images for quality and clinical accuracy prior to release.
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness and functionality in compliance with infection control and quality standards.
  • Demonstrate competence in sterile technique and venipuncture as needed.
  • Provide clear explanations to patients and address concerns professionally.
  • Collaborate with mobile PET imaging vendors to support patient throughput.
  • Participate in ongoing training and maintain compliance with institutional policies and Joint Commission standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Graduate of an AMA-approved Nuclear Medicine program.
  • Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in nuclear medicine.
  • Certification as CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) required.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Proficiency with Philips ADAC Forte, Epic, and PACS systems.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to mentor and teach fellow nuclear medicine staff is preferred.
