This opportunity is for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist skilled in imaging technologies, specializing in nuclear medicine procedures. The role involves operating sophisticated cameras that detect and map radioactive drugs within patients to generate detailed diagnostic images critical for patient care.

Assigned to a radiology department in Troy, MO, this position is a contract role offering a day shift schedule—five days a week, 8 hours per day—with a guaranteed minimum of 36 hours weekly. Weekend hours may be requested occasionally. The work environment emphasizes safety and precision, particularly in handling and administering radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols, while strictly following radiation safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate nuclear medicine imaging equipment to capture diagnostic images
  • Position patients accurately, selecting appropriate technical and anatomic factors
  • Order, prepare, administer, and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals in compliance with protocols
  • Ensure timely submission of high-quality images and documentation to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS)
  • Adhere to radiation safety procedures to protect patients and staff

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist or similar imaging role
  • Familiarity with the use and maintenance of nuclear medicine imaging cameras and associated technology
  • Ability to follow stringent safety protocols for handling radioactive materials
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality diagnostic images
