A healthcare professional with expertise in computerized tomographic (CT) radiology technology is needed to perform specialized imaging procedures under general supervision. This role also involves carrying out general diagnostic radiology exams and supporting related clinical duties to ensure high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients by explaining examination procedures and obtaining relevant medical history.
- Review clinical data and perform appropriate CT and general diagnostic radiology examinations.
- Set up and maintain procedure rooms, including replenishing necessary supplies.
- Operate CT equipment manually to capture precise diagnostic images.
- Administer intravenous contrast media, monitor patients for reactions, and provide immediate care if needed.
- Assist radiologists with complex sterile diagnostic procedures such as biopsies.
- Apply radiation protection principles, including shielding and dose reduction techniques.
- Manage image quality by resolving exceptions and ensuring proper delivery into the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
- Complete study indexing and documentation in the Radiology Information System (RIS).
- Maintain clear communication and demonstrate professional standards including AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You) and teamwork principles.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Certification as a Radiologic Technologist with specialized training in CT imaging.
- Experience in administering contrast media and supporting sterile procedures.
- Strong knowledge of radiation safety and imaging protocols.
- Proficiency with PACS and RIS for image and study management.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
