Perform essential radiographic procedures as a Radiologic Technologist to support accurate diagnosis and patient care. This role involves operating X-ray imaging equipment, preparing patients for examinations, and collaborating closely with radiologists and healthcare teams. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are critical to maintain high-quality imaging and safeguard patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct diagnostic X-ray procedures efficiently and accurately.
- Operate all X-ray imaging and related equipment following established guidelines.
- Educate, position, and immobilize patients to acquire optimal images.
- Coordinate imaging exams to ensure timely and continuous patient care.
- Interpret provider imaging orders accurately and submit appropriate images for radiologist review.
- Evaluate image quality and take corrective measures as needed.
- Maintain clear communication with patients, coworkers, radiologists, and leadership.
- Manage department supplies, including utilization, charging, and maintenance.
- Adhere to sterile technique and infection prevention protocols.
- Administer contrast materials per radiologist protocols when required.
- Follow radiation safety measures (ALARA) at all times.
- Supervise and evaluate student radiographers during clinical practice.
- Safely transfer and handle patients during imaging procedures.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Certification and experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
- Proficiency with X-ray equipment and knowledge of radiation safety standards.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and patient-focused approach.
- Experience supervising or mentoring radiography students is a plus.
