Perform Radiologic procedures under the supervision of a Radiologist to evaluate pathological conditions, using independent judgment to select appropriate radiographic techniques and ensure patient safety. This contract opportunity in Detroit, MI, focuses on high-quality imaging and patient-centered care within a structured radiology department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Explain examination procedures and prepare patients accordingly.
- Review clinical data and patient history to perform accurate imaging studies.
- Set up procedure rooms and maintain adequate stock of supplies.
- Operate radiologic equipment manually to capture precise diagnostic images.
- Administer intravenous contrast media when necessary and monitor patients for reactions.
- Apply radiation protection principles including shielding and dose reduction techniques.
- Prepare sterile equipment as needed and adhere to infection control protocols.
- Ensure patient safety, privacy, confidentiality, and comfort throughout procedures.
- Complete all required documentation, logs, and patient records accurately.
- Educate and mentor new hires and students while managing personal duties.
- Resolve image exceptions and verify quality control in the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
- Index studies and update the Radiology Information System (RIS) accurately.
- Collaborate with Radiologists to confirm clinical protocols.
- Uphold team standards promoting communication, positive attitude, and diversity respect.
