Responsibilities

  • Verify clinician orders and obtain complete clinical history prior to exams.
  • Perform ultrasound imaging procedures independently, ensuring diagnostic quality and patient comfort.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with departmental standards.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, explaining processes clearly to reduce anxiety.
  • Operate and calibrate ultrasound equipment, following infection control and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams and assist in other imaging modalities as needed.
  • Respond to emergencies, maintain life support readiness, and participate in quality control activities.
  • Organize workflow efficiently to meet designated timeframes and department needs.

Qualifications/Desired Experience

  • Completion of Sonography Training Program required; 1+ year clinical experience preferred.
  • Registered Medical Sonographer credential (ARDMS or ARRT-S) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification mandatory.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, pathology, and technical ultrasound principles.
  • Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and clinical staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Dependable and flexible with night shift schedule (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 7:00 pm – 7:30 am).
