An opportunity exists for an experienced ultrasound technologist with a strong foundation in general ultrasound imaging to support a busy radiology department. This contract position is based in Derry, NH, offering a Monday to Thursday schedule that allows for work-life balance and consistent routine.
Responsibilities include performing a wide range of ultrasound procedures using Siemens Acuson S200 and GE Logiq E10 equipment. Typical exams involve thoracic, vascular, soft tissue, thyroid, liver, renal biopsy guidance, and specialized OR ultrasound procedures such as breast needle placements and prostate biopsies. You will work alongside a dedicated team of sonographers and radiology professionals to deliver compassionate and accurate diagnostic imaging to a diverse patient population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Minimum of one year clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting with exposure to general, vascular, and OB-GYN sonography
- Comprehensive knowledge of anatomy and pathology with the ability to distinguish normal versus abnormal findings
- Proficiency with sonographic physics, equipment operation, and clinical scanning techniques
- BLS and RDMS certifications required; NH MIRT licensure mandatory for practice
- Additional certifications such as RVT, OB-GYN specialty, or AB certification are advantageous
- Experience with ultrasound-guided procedures and working in the OR is preferred
- Professional demeanor with strong communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and adherence to departmental protocols
The workplace features four ultrasound rooms staffed by 14 skilled sonographers, structured shifts to manage patient volumes efficiently, and use of electronic medical records (Allscripts) and PACS (InteleRad) systems.
