An opportunity is available for an experienced Ultrasound Technologist to provide essential imaging services in a busy emergency department setting. This contract role is based in Monroe, NC, and involves performing general and vascular ultrasound studies to support emergency and outpatient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform ultrasound imaging services including general and vascular studies.
  • Collaborate with emergency and outpatient care teams to ensure accurate and timely diagnostic imaging.
  • Utilize advanced imaging technology including Siemens Sequoia equipment and interact with EMR systems such as EPIC and Epic Radiant RIS.
  • Adhere to facility protocols while working independently or under leadership support as applicable.
  • Participate in weekend and holiday shifts with no on-call requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in ultrasound imaging, with vascular ultrasound skills required.
  • Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-S).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Proficiency with imaging technology and electronic medical records is preferred.
  • Ability to work 12-hour night shifts on weekends and cover holiday rotations.

Schedule:

  • Weekend rotation mandatory with 12-hour night shifts on weekends (1900-0700).
  • Weekday shifts are 8 hours with varying hours as needed.
  • No call-back or floating required.

Facility & Location: The role is based at a 16-bed free-standing emergency department licensed under a major healthcare system, offering around-the-clock X-ray, CT, and ultrasound services. The emergency department averages 87 visits per day with about 8 ultrasound studies daily. Monroe, NC is a vibrant community known for its friendly environment and southern charm. The facility provides surface parking at no cost. The radius rule requires the candidate’s permanent residence to be at least 50 miles outside the home unit.
