This opportunity seeks a skilled Ultrasound Technologist with expertise in general ultrasound imaging, including vascular studies. The role operates under radiologist supervision to perform radiologic procedures that assist in evaluating patient pathology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Explain procedures and prepare patients for ultrasound examinations, adhering to department protocols.
- Analyze patient anatomy and perform imaging studies; utilize independent judgment for positioning and technique.
- Maintain procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies while following infection control standards.
- Administer contrast media if required, monitoring patients for adverse reactions.
- Apply radiation protection principles ensuring patient and staff safety.
- Complete study documentation accurately, including RIS and PACS system tasks.
- Assist in training new staff and students.
- Consistently demonstrate professional communication and teamwork standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
- ARDMS certification required.
- Current BLS certification.
- Experience with general and vascular ultrasound techniques preferred.
- Strong communication skills and a self-motivated approach.
Schedule & Contract Details:
- Contract position with a typical assignment of 13 weeks; shorter durations of 8 or 10 weeks may be considered.
- Variable shifts include weekdays and some weekend hours: • Monday – Friday: 7am-3pm, 8am-4pm, 9am-5pm, 2:30pm-10:30pm • Weekend shifts may include 7am-3pm or 3pm-11pm
- Scheduling may be provided in 6-week blocks but hours are based on facility needs; 40-hour weeks are not guaranteed.
Location Overview: Situated in Dearborn, MI, this role offers exposure to a dynamic healthcare environment with patient volumes ranging from 165 to 200 inpatients daily, encompassing inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings. This varied caseload allows for a diverse clinical experience.
