A healthcare setting in Matthews, NC is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to support vascular and general ultrasound imaging needs. This is a contract position offering a night shift schedule with a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform vascular and general ultrasound studies for emergency department patients.
- Assist with general patient care tasks including vital signs collection, EKGs, sitting for psych patients, and patient transport when not performing imaging.
- Collaborate with staff from multiple specialties to ensure smooth departmental operations.
- Utilize EMR systems (Epic), RIS, PACS, and specific imaging equipment such as Siemens Sequoias and Trophon units.
- Support both Ballantyne and Providence free-standing emergency departments during night shifts and call coverage.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years imaging experience; new travelers with required credentials will be considered.
- Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-S).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability and willingness to perform general ED ultrasound imaging and related patient care tasks.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Schedule / Hours:
- 12-hour night shifts (7pm to 7am) on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with weekend rotation and on-call requirements.
- Flexible to support two nearby emergency departments as needed.
Work Environment & Technology:
- Free-standing emergency department with 12 beds, averaging 45 patient visits and 5 studies daily.
- Advanced imaging and diagnostic technology with onsite X-ray and CT services.
- Electronic medical record system: Epic.
