Location: Muskegon, MI
Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, no overtime
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team in the Muskegon, MI area.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional education and support to K to 12th grade students with diverse needs in a resource classroom setting.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Create and adapt curriculum materials to meet the unique learning requirements of each student.
- Provide differentiated instruction and support to promote academic, social, and emotional growth.
- Collaborate with other educators, therapists, and parents to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adjusting strategies as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including progress reports and attendance records.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in special education
- Valid Michigan teaching license
- Active Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working with K-12 grade students in a special education setting is preferred.
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and students.
- Passion for creating a positive and supportive learning environment for all students.
