We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) to join our team for the 2023-2024 school year in Crosby, TX. As an LSSP, you will play a crucial role in the assessment, counseling, and support of students, ensuring their academic, social, and emotional well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial assessments and re-evaluations to determine students' eligibility for special education services
  • Attend Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings, providing valuable input and recommendations
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the educational team to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Provide counseling services to students, based on their individualized needs as outlined in their IEPs
  • Administer and interpret psychological tests, assessments, and observations to identify learning and behavioral difficulties
  • Write comprehensive reports and maintain accurate documentation within specified timelines
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to develop and implement strategies to support students' academic and social progress
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in the field of school psychology

Qualifications:

  • Valid license as a Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) in the state of Texas
  • Master's Degree in School Psychology or a related field
  • Experience working in a school or educational setting is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws, assessment procedures, and intervention strategies
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to working with students with diverse needs
