Employment Type: Full-Time, 1099 - Contract
Work Hours: 37.5 hours/ week
Education:
Bachelor’s Level Degree in ASL or Education Interpreting
Will need to have an EIPA score of 3.5 or more and have passed the written portion, or hold a bachelor’s degree and nationally recognized certification that includes a written exam related to ethics and practice
Responsibilities:
- Listens to complete statements in one language, translates to second, and translates responses from second into first language
- Provides interpreting for pupils who are deaf or hard of hearing (DHH) in all areas of the
educational environment.
- Facilitate communication among deaf or hard of hearing students and their hearing peers, the
classroom teacher, and other personnel in the school system
