Manager of Heart and Vascular Interventional Services
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Electrophysiology, and Interventional Structural Heart Procedures. Manages department resources including providing staff schedules and monitoring all staff activities to ensure compliance with hospital and department policies and procedures. Participates in long-range planning relative to services, programs, capital budgets, and human resources for assigned areas of responsibility. Coordinates education of staff and assists with quality data collection.
Effectively provides vision and mission to co-workers and inspires the team to achieve excellence. Actively live out an organizational mission, vision, and values. They are supporting patient experience and participating in community service events.
Engages co-workers in improvements in patient care by implementing/sustaining a shared governance model.
Ensure staff knowledge and participation in quality improvement activities, including but not limited to The Joint Commission’s core measure projects, National Patient Safety Goals initiatives, and NDNQI goals; evidenced-based projects and research activities (as appropriate).
Promotes personal and staff development. Coordinates professional continuing education and encourages specialty clinical certifications. Manages professional career ladders specific to staff roles.
Ensures that all employees maintain all required competencies required for the role. Including but not limited to CPR, infection control, radiation, and patient safety.
Reviews all records and documentation appropriate for regulatory compliance and provides data to support specific registries and monitors outcomes reported by relevant national benchmarking agencies.
Evaluate new technologies that support patient progress and cost-effectiveness. Develop clinical processes, and training plans, request charge management coding and billing to support the safe patient outcome and optimal revenue generation.
Maintains 24-hour functioning of critical response services (i.e.; STEMI team, BAT Team) and is primarily responsible for developing, interpreting, and applying departmental policies, maintaining and creating procedure codes to ensure operational effectiveness and efficiency of interventional operations.
Contribute to the development and implementation of a strategic plan for the service line or department as directed by senior leadership.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree, Masters preferred
MA License as RN or Cardiovascular Technologist
5 years of clinical background in the interventional lab environment.
2-5 years of supervisory/ management experience leading teams of clinical professionals.
Strong communication, and organization skills.
