This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to provide high-quality science education to middle school students with special needs. Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement science curriculum and lesson plans tailored to the diverse learning needs of middle school students with special needs.
- Create engaging and accessible science lessons that align with state standards and individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning.
- Collaborate with other educators, support staff, and the educational team to ensure a comprehensive and supportive learning experience.
- Adapt teaching strategies, materials, and assessments to accommodate the needs and abilities of students with diverse learning profiles.
- Monitor and assess student progress, regularly adjusting teaching strategies and goals to promote growth.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including IEP documentation.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, caregivers, and colleagues to address academic and developmental needs.
Qualifications:
- A valid Oklahoma teaching license with Special Education Science Teacher certification.
- Strong commitment to providing high-quality science education and support to students with diverse needs.
- Previous experience working in special education, particularly with middle school students, is preferred.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, families, colleagues, and other professionals.
- Dedication to creating an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
- Availability to work full-time, 35 hours per week, to support the educational needs of middle school students.
- Passion for helping students with special needs succeed in science education.
