Are you a passionate and dedicated School Psychologist looking for an exciting opportunity in the field of education? We are currently seeking a qualified School Psychologist to join our team for the upcoming school year in Kent, WA. This is a full-time position, offering 37.5 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to evaluate students' cognitive, academic, and social-emotional functioning
- Participate in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Provide counseling and intervention services to address students' social, emotional, and behavioral challenges
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to develop and implement effective strategies to support students' academic success
- Attend and actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and eligibility conferences
- Write thorough and accurate assessment reports, progress notes, and other required documentation within specified timelines
- Stay up-to-date with current research, best practices, and relevant laws and regulations in the field of school psychology
- Provide consultation and support to teachers and staff members regarding student behavior management and positive intervention strategies
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in School Psychology or a related field
- Valid certification or licensure as a School Psychologist in the state of Washington
- Previous experience working in a school or educational setting is preferred
- Strong knowledge of assessment techniques, intervention strategies, and special education laws
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate documentation
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to working with students and families
