Special Education Teachers (x4)

Location: Kannapolis, NC (Multiple Locations)

Status: Accepting Candidates

Description: 4 Full-Time Positions / 37.5 Hours per week

Open Positions:

  1. Self-Contained Classroom Teacher

    • Description: Teach a self-contained classroom for students with special needs.
    • Requirements: Must hold an Adapted Curriculum Certificate.
  2. Self-Contained Classroom Teacher - Grades K-6

    • Description: Provide specialized instruction in a self-contained classroom setting for K-6 students.
  3. Resource Classroom Teacher - Grades K-6

    • Description: Support students in a resource classroom setting, providing targeted assistance and individualized instruction.
  4. Resource Classroom Teacher - Grades 7-12

    • Description: Offer support in a resource classroom for students in grades 7-12, focusing on personalized educational strategies and interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instruction: Develop and deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to students’ needs and abilities.
  • IEP Implementation: Create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students, working closely with families and other educators.
  • Assessment: Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and adjustments to instructional plans as needed.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with general education teachers, specialists, and parents to support student learning and development.
  • Classroom Management: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports students' social and academic growth.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Certification: Valid North Carolina teaching license with appropriate special education endorsements.
  • Experience: Experience in a special education setting is preferred but not required.
  • Skills: Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, families, and school staff.
