Need for Inpatient Pharmacy Technician in California (Travel)

Location: Saint Helena, CA

Schedule: Variable days and afternoons

Job Responsibilities:

• Accurately fills unit dose cassettes utilizing daily cart fill list from patient profiles
• Accurately prepares intravenous admixtures and other sterile products form daily label prints and patient profiles
• Prepares new/missing patient medications and supplies to patient care and ancillary areas per established schedule and in response to urgent need
• Picks up orders, medications, and sterile products for return to Pharmacy from patient care areas on schedule delivery rounds
• Charges and credits patient accounts daily
• Replenishes floor stock medications. Generate reports, pick lists, labels as required. Schedules IV Room orders daily as assigned
• Completes and documents assigned medication storage area inspection at least monthly, maintaining areas neat, clean, and free of outdated medications
• Supervises and instructs pharmacy students
• Has access to and/or handles medications according to the standards set by the Medical Center
• Follows up on questionable items with medical history by seeking information from appropriate sources such as family and/or primary physician
• Uses Meditech system to record home medication list
• Follows all policies regarding hygiene and patient contact

Ideal Candidate:

• Current California Pharmacy Technician certification
• PTCB highly preferred, but not required
• Hospital pharmacy technician experience required
• Must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated, no exceptions
