Join our team as a School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) near Dover, PA focusing on providing speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorder services to students. Your role is pivotal in assessing, diagnosing, and treating students to enhance their academic and social success through effective communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs and goals.
- Provide therapy to improve speech, language, communication, and swallowing abilities.
- Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
- Educate patients and their families on speech-language disorders, therapy techniques, and strategies for improvement.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians, psychologists, and educators, to coordinate patient care and achieve optimal outcomes.
- Stay updated on advancements in the field of speech-language pathology and incorporate evidence-based practices into clinical work.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical records and reports.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) from an accredited program.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), or eligibility for certification.
- State licensure or eligibility for licensure in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Previous clinical experience preferred, particularly in diagnosing and treating speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Compassion, patience, and empathy for individuals with speech and language challenges.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
