Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to students and staff members in a school setting.
• Assess and manage student health concerns, injuries, and illnesses during school hours.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physicians' orders and established protocols.
• Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with chronic conditions or special needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to promote a healthy and safe school environment.
• Conduct health screenings, immunization audits, and maintain accurate health records.
• Educate students, staff, and families on health promotion, disease prevention, and first aid techniques.
• Respond effectively to emergencies and provide immediate medical assistance as required.

Qualifications:

• Valid Lousiana State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in pediatrics or school nursing.
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Excellent assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding student health services in schools.
