Soliant is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN)  for the 2023/2024 school year. As a Contracted School RN, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive healthcare services to students, ensuring their well-being and promoting a healthy learning environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the academic success and overall welfare of students in Texas.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to students with diverse medical needs, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and managing chronic health conditions.
  • Perform health screenings and assessments to identify students' health concerns and make appropriate referrals as needed.
  • Develop and maintain individualized healthcare plans for students with specific medical conditions, in coordination with parents, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other staff members to promote a safe and healthy school environment.
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies, accidents, and injuries occurring within the school premises, following established protocols and procedures.
  • Educate students, staff, and parents on health-related topics, including preventive measures, hygiene practices, and general health promotion.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential medical records, ensuring compliance with state regulations and privacy laws.
  • Participate in staff development programs and stay updated with advancements in pediatric and school nursing practices.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, families, and the school community, promoting open communication and trust.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Texas RN license.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred, but Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) will be considered.
  • Current CPR and first aid certification.
  • Prior experience in pediatric nursing, school nursing, or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills to effectively manage healthcare needs and emergencies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with students, parents, and staff members.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing situations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate and confidential medical records.
  • Knowledge of Texas state laws and regulations governing school health services.
