Soliant is currently working with a school in the Salt Lake City, Utah area to hire a contracted School Psychologist for the 2023/2024 school year. As a School Psychologist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the mental health and well-being of students within the school district. You will collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to assess and address students' emotional, behavioral, and learning needs. Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations to assess students' intellectual, academic, emotional, and social functioning.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and intervention strategies for students with special needs.
- Provide counseling and intervention services to students individually or in group settings, addressing a range of issues such as anxiety, depression, behavioral problems, and academic difficulties.
- Offer support and guidance to parents and teachers on strategies for addressing students' psychological and behavioral challenges.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to review student progress, discuss intervention strategies, and develop appropriate educational plans.
- Assist in the implementation of school-wide programs aimed at promoting positive mental health, social-emotional learning, and prevention efforts.
- Collaborate with community resources and mental health agencies to facilitate referrals and access to outside services when necessary.
- Stay up-to-date with current research and best practices in the field of school psychology.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of student assessments, progress, and services provided.
- Comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards pertaining to the field of school psychology.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree or higher in School Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a School Psychologist in the state of Utah.
- Experience working as a School Psychologist in an educational setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of assessment tools and techniques for evaluating students' cognitive, academic, and socio-emotional functioning.
- Strong understanding of special education laws and regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
- Excellent counseling and crisis intervention skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with students, parents, teachers, and administrators.
- Proficiency in conducting individual and group counseling sessions.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of evidence-based interventions and strategies for addressing various student needs.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
