Now interviewing School Social Worker Near Rochester Hills, Michigan Full-time or Part -time (Ask About Virtual Positions)

We are looking to hire a Social Worker for this year to help with our ongoing needs. The Social Worker will assist the schools in a flourishing district in Michigan.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conducts required training for mandated reporters of suspected child abuse and neglect
  • Provides casework assessment and services to students and their families
  • Assists parents and students with referrals to community agencies and resources
  • Maintains case records and related statistical data, demonstrating knowledge of various student information and software programs
  • Submits accurate monthly reports electronically on school social work services provided at each assigned school
  • Solicits the aid of community agencies and resources to provide tangible needs to the individual student and his/her family
  • Works with parents and children in a confidential and caring manner and assists the family, school, and community in any way required to bridge gaps between family and school
  • Education and Experience

  • Master's Degree in Social Work (required)
  • Certification/Licensure:

  • Must hold certification as a School Social Worker in-state (or able to obtain)
  • Michigan Department of Education approval
  • Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of norms of behavior at stages in a child's growth and development as affected by chronological age
  • Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with community agencies
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills in rendering solutions to various issues
  • Must be able to collaborate effectively with district personnel, the general public, and work with diverse groups of people
