A professional Surgical Technologist with expertise in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) procedures is needed for a contract opportunity located in Concord, NC. This role offers a dynamic and challenging environment working in a busy operating room setting specializing in cardiothoracic, vascular, and thoracic cases. The surgical team performs a wide range of cases, including CABG, valve replacements, vascular bypasses, and advanced thoracic resections.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scrub and assist during various surgeries including orthopedic, cardiothoracic, vascular, robotic, and general surgeries.
- Provide expert support in CVOR cases such as CABG, TAVR, vascular surgeries, and thoracic procedures.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including anesthesia and nursing staff.
- Assist with room turnovers, equipment stocking, and patient positioning.
- Maintain strict adherence to sterile techniques and safety protocols.
- Respond to call duties including weeknight and weekend rotations with timely availability.
- Utilize EMR systems such as EPIC and work with specialized equipment including Alaris IV pumps and Omnicell medication dispensing.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
- BLS certification required; national CST certification preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years’ operating room experience, including recent CVOR specialty exposure.
- Strong hands-on experience with cardiovascular, thoracic, and vascular surgeries.
- Ability to respond quickly during call shifts with a 30-minute response time.
Schedule:
- 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) primarily.
- Call responsibilities include 4-5 weeknight calls and 1-2 weekend calls per 6-week schedule.
- Sleep room available during call shifts.
