An opportunity is available for a skilled CVOR Surgical Tech to contribute expertise to a busy operating room environment. This contract position offers a dynamic setting to support a high-volume surgical department, specializing in Cardiothoracic, Vascular, and Thoracic procedures.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Tech educational program is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification mandatory.
- National Surgical Tech certification preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of operating room experience, with recent exposure to Cardiothoracic, Vascular, and Thoracic cases including CABG, TAVR, vascular bypasses, and robotic resections.
- Proficiency in a variety of surgical specialties such as Orthopedic, General, Urology, Robotic, GYN, Colon, Breast, Spine, Podiatry, and Plastic surgery is highly valued.
- Excellent teamwork skills with ability to support room turnovers, patient positioning, and operation of surgical tables.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EPIC), IV pumps (Alaris), medication dispensing systems (Omnicell), and patient monitors (Phillips) preferred.
Location: Positioned in the Concord, NC area, this role is at a hospital that operates 13 OR rooms performing on average 45 cases per day. The facility boasts specialized centers such as Stroke and Chest Pain, providing comprehensive care in a well-resourced environment. Responsibilities:
- Scrub and assist in a variety of surgeries within Cardiothoracic, Vascular, and Thoracic specialties.
- Collaborate closely with anesthesia providers, charge nurses, and OR assistants to ensure efficient workflow.
- Maintain proper stocking and organization of surgical equipment and supplies.
- Contribute to a safe and sterile environment during surgical procedures.
- Participate in a rotating call schedule, evening shifts, and holiday coverage as needed.
Schedule:
- 12-hour day shifts, typically 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
- Approximately 36 hours per week.
- Call rotations including weeknights and limited weekend coverage.
