A rewarding opportunity is available for an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide skilled nursing care at a well-established skilled nursing facility. This contract position is located in Asheboro, NC, and offers a structured work schedule of 12-hour day shifts, providing a balanced blend of professional responsibility and personal time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from illnesses, injuries, or surgeries, including stroke, amputation, neurological disorders, and post-joint replacement.
- Manage specialized care such as tracheostomy care, Foley catheter maintenance, wound care, dressing changes, IV starts and management, and tube feedings.
- Collaborate closely with nursing leadership, administrative nurses, healthcare technicians, therapists, and case management to provide excellent patient-centered care.
- Utilize electronic medical records (EPIC), Alaris IV pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing systems effectively.
- Participate in floating assignments within the continuing care region as required, ensuring flexibility and adaptability within your scope of practice.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 18 months’ experience in skilled nursing or long-term care, with a strong preference for candidates familiar with rehabilitation facility settings.
- Current LPN license with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Proficient in managing a patient ratio of approximately 1:18-20 during day shifts.
- Ability and willingness to work weekends on a rotation basis and to cover approximately 75% of holidays during the contract.
- Experience with clinical interviewing techniques.
Schedule and Work Environment:
- 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, totaling 36 hours per week.
- Weekend rotation every other week.
- Floating across multiple facilities within the region may be required; travel time during floating assignments is compensated.
