An opportunity is available for an experienced surgical professional skilled in ORT nursing and First Assist Tech support to join a busy surgical team in Asheville, NC. This contract position spans 13 weeks and offers a dynamic surgical environment specializing in orthopedic procedures and a range of other surgeries.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) credentialed to advanced provider standards
  • Current AHA BLS certification
  • Strong orthopedic background including total joint replacements, spine, and orthopedic cases
  • Minimum 1-2 years trauma-level experience and completion of at least two travel assignments
  • Experience across multiple surgical specialties including urology, endoscopy, and general surgery (excluding heart and brain surgeries)
  • Demonstrated resilience, adaptability to change, and strong interpersonal skills

Responsibilities:

  • Support surgical teams in 10 operating rooms and 3 procedure rooms
  • Participate in daily morning huddles to coordinate surgical schedules
  • Adhere to established clinical protocols throughout the perioperative process
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and quality care
  • Participate in weekend and weeknight call schedules as assigned
  • Attend monthly staff meetings and engage in ongoing professional development

Schedule/Hours:

  • 10-hour day shifts from 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM
  • Orientation week includes 5 to 8-hour day shifts
  • Up to 36 hours per week, with the facility reserving the right to cancel one shift biweekly without penalty
  • Scheduled call on weekends and one weeknight per week, plus one 24-hour holiday call during the contract
