An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with Level 1 trauma training to specialize in General Surgery at a busy Level One Trauma Center. This travel position focuses on diverse surgical cases including emergency general surgery (EGS), burns, trauma, Da Vinci robotic-assisted procedures, thoracic, and liver surgeries. Candidates will contribute expertise in a dynamic operating room environment that utilizes advanced technology and cares for a broad patient population.

Location: Biddeford, ME, situated just a short distance from a vibrant medical hub known for its quality healthcare services and scenic surroundings. This area offers convenient access to coastal Maine’s natural beauty and recreational opportunities, enhancing work-life balance.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate surgical procedures with proficiency in various specialties including trauma, robotics, neurosurgery, orthopedics, and more
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams ensuring patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes
  • Manage and operate advanced surgical equipment including Storz, Stryker, Olympus systems, and Intuitive robotic platforms
  • Respond effectively to trauma calls, including one overnight call per week as part of a rotating schedule
  • Maintain flexible teamwork and communication to meet unit needs and patient care standards

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

  • Certified Surgical Technologist credential required
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of Level 1 trauma experience preferred
  • Skilled in emergency surgeries and complex specialty cases including GU/GYN, orthopedics, pediatrics, plastics, ENT, and endovascular procedures
  • Experience working in Epic EMR systems is advantageous
  • Flexible, accountable, and punctual team player with strong interpersonal skills

Schedule/Hours:

  • Day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
  • 36 guaranteed hours per week
  • Weekend rotation of 1:4 with 12-hour shifts
  • One overnight trauma call per week (11:00 PM to 7:00 AM) as scheduled
