A specialized opportunity is available for experienced surgical professionals with expertise in trauma, ortho, neuro, and general surgery. This contract position requires dedication to high-acuity cases within a Level II Trauma Center boasting 492 beds and advanced care designations including a Level III NICU and Primary Stroke Center.
Location Overview
Montgomery, AL, serves as a vibrant hub blending rich history with modern healthcare facilities. This city offers a mix of southern charm, cultural attractions, and accessible amenities, making it an inviting place to live and work.
Shift Hours:
- 12-hour night shifts, starting at 6:30 PM on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
- Weekend rotation with on-call duties for all service lines except Open Heart
- One holiday shift expected per contract
Responsibilities:
- Provide skilled perioperative care with focus on trauma (excluding burns), neuro, vascular (including endovascular), ENT, ortho spine, general surgery, gynecology, urology, robotics (Mazor/DaVinci XI preferred), plastics, and robotics-assisted procedures
- Participate in 2-week day shift orientation including buddy call duties
- Collaborate with charge nurses, team leaders, and support staff to deliver efficient patient care
- Utilize Cerner EMR, Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Spacelabs monitors
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Registered Nurse with ORT expertise or certified/non-certified Surgical Tech experience
- Minimum 2 years experience preferred; first-time travelers considered with adequate experience
- Strong proficiency in trauma, neuro, vascular, and robotic surgical procedures
- Certification preferred but not mandatory
- Ability to manage 1:1 patient ratios in a high-acuity surgical setting
