An experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with a strong background in trauma and general surgery is sought for a travel opportunity at a Level One Trauma Center specializing in complex surgical procedures. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of three years’ experience as a Level 1 trauma CST and demonstrate expertise across a variety of surgeries, including emergency general surgery (EGS), burn care, trauma cases, DaVinci robotic-assisted procedures, thoracic, and liver surgeries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain the operating room environment for a wide range of surgical specialties.
- Assist surgeons during procedures, ensuring the highest level of sterile technique.
- Operate and manage advanced surgical equipment such as Storz, Stryker, Olympus instruments, and Intuitive surgical robots.
- Participate in scheduled call rotations, including overnight trauma calls, per specialty team protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with surgical teams across specialties like cardiac, thoracic, vascular, neuro, orthopedic, and more.
- Adhere to hospital policies and maintain strict compliance with all safety and infection control standards.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years as a Level 1 Trauma Certified Surgical Technologist.
- Certification as a CST is mandatory.
- Proven experience in EGS, trauma, burns, robotic surgeries, thoracic, and liver procedures.
- Prior exposure to specialties including GU/GYN, ortho trauma, neurosurgery, ENT, pediatrics, plastics, dental, and endovascular preferred.
- Strong teamwork skills, accountability, flexibility, and punctuality.
Schedule and Location:
- Shifts run from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM with a guaranteed 36 weekly hours.
- Weekend rotation is approximately 1:4 with 12-hour shifts.
- Overnight trauma call required, from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
