This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide expert perioperative care across a wide range of surgical specialties in a dynamic hospital setting. Candidates will contribute to high-quality patient outcomes in an environment that values clinical excellence and teamwork. This contract position is based in Wetumpka, AL, and offers a structured orientation and supportive unit resources.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Strong experience in Trauma (excluding burns), Neuro, General, Vascular, ENT, Orthopedics including total joint procedures, Gynecology, Endovascular vascular, Urology, Robotics (General and Neuro), Plastics, Breast, and Ophthalmology surgeries
  • Preferred robotics experience with platforms such as Mazor or DaVinci XI
  • Open Heart and Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) experience is welcomed but not required for general OR tech duties
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist preferred but not mandatory

Responsibilities:

  • Support perioperative teams through preparation and operation assistance
  • Collaborate with OR assistants, desk staff, float assistants, charge nurses, and team leaders across surgical service lines
  • Operate essential technologies including Cerner EMR, Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing systems, and Spacelabs monitors
  • Adhere to established schedules, including weekend on-call rotations and holiday assignments as scheduled
  • Participate in a two-week orientation primarily on day shifts during which buddy call support is expected
  • Wear provided green scrubs in compliance with department standards

Schedule:

  • Shifts include early mornings to evenings (0630-1700), midday to late afternoons (1230-2300), and extended day shifts (0630-1900)
  • On-call responsibilities average one day a week with one weekend per month
  • Time-off requests require managerial approval
