A Registered Nurse with specialized experience in cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology is needed for a contract position based in Cambridge, MA. The role involves working primarily day shifts in the Cardiac Cath Lab, focusing on adult patients undergoing interventional cardiac procedures.
Responsibilities include supporting cardiac catheterization and EP lab activities, such as PCI, impella insertion, balloon pump management, device implants, and ablations. Nurses must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with complex interventional cases, maintaining patient safety, and collaborating effectively with the clinical team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide skilled nursing care during cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures
- Assist with interventional cardiac techniques including PCI, device implants, and ablations
- Monitor patients pre-, intra-, and post-procedure for changes in condition
- Maintain accurate patient records using the EPIC – Cupid charting system
- Follow all safety protocols and adhere to regulatory and facility standards
- Participate in on-call rotation including nights and one weekend every month
Qualifications:
- Current Massachusetts RN license
- Minimum of 4 years experience in Cath/EP Lab nursing with interventional cardiac and scrub skills
- ACLS certification required
- Proficient with electronic medical records, preferably EPIC – Cupid
- Strong critical thinking and patient assessment abilities
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Schedule:
- Four 10-hour day shifts, 7:00am to 5:30pm
- Approximately 7 on-call nights per month including one weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) and additional night shifts
