Cardiovascular Intensive Care Nurse (RN) | Lincolnton, North Carolina

An opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse skilled in Cardiovascular Intensive Care (CVICU) to provide exceptional critical care in a reputable hospital setting. This contract role features a demanding but rewarding 12-hour night shift schedule, designed for professionals ready to deliver expert patient care during overnight hours.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Licensed RN with a minimum of 2 years ICU experience, preferably in CVICU
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Strong critical care assessment and critical thinking skills
• Proficient in ventilator care, hemodynamic monitoring, and central line management
• Ability to handle common diagnoses such as sepsis, CHF, pneumonia, stroke, and more
• Experience with EPIC EMR system is an advantage

Responsibilities:

• Manage patient care with a consistent nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 on the 18-bed unit
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including RT, hospitalists, intensivists, and IV teams
• Provide bedside telemetry monitoring and utilize equipment such as Philips monitors and Omnicell medication dispensing systems
• Participate in a weekend rotation every other week and cover 75% of holidays as part of the contract
• Engage in a thorough orientation process including a 2-day departmental training period
