This opportunity is ideal for experienced registered nurses specializing in cardiovascular intensive care. The position involves providing high-acuity care in a focused CVICU setting, managing complex patient cases including sepsis, DKA, substance abuse, respiratory illnesses, CHF, stroke, and gastrointestinal bleeds. Strong critical care and assessment skills are essential, with responsibilities including hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and central line care.
Key Qualifications:
- Current RN licensure and BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience preferred; first-time travelers considered
- Proficient in critical care assessment, ventilator and hemodynamic management
- Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including RT, IV/VAT, hospitalists, and intensivists

Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive cardiovascular ICU nursing care, maintaining a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Utilize EPIC electronic medical records and advanced monitoring technology such as Philips monitors and Artic Sun units
- Participate in every other weekend rotation and work 75% of holidays with no on-call duties
- Engage in ongoing clinical training with department-specific orientation and support systems, including charge nurses and virtual intensivist coverage
Schedule and Contract Details:
- 12-hour night shifts (7:00 pm – 7:00 am)
- Every other weekend rotation, with approval for limited time off excluding holidays
- Contract assignment within Region 3, including coverage in surrounding areas as needed
