A rewarding opportunity is available for an experienced registered nurse specializing in endoscopy or GI lab care. This contract role is based in Cypress, TX, and offers a dynamic clinical environment within a busy Diabetes and Endocrine Clinic. The clinic serves 90-140 patients daily and supports a multidisciplinary team including 8-11 providers, 32 faculty members, and 12 fellows.
Shift Schedule:
- Monday through Friday
- Options include 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM on a 4-day rotation
Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing support to patients within the Endoscopy and GI Lab settings
- Collaborate effectively with Medical Assistants and other clinic staff
- Administer insulin and conduct pulse teaching and basic IM teaching
- Manage hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia cases in the outpatient clinic
- Assist with various back-office tasks including triage calls, prior authorizations, lab results communication, and documentation such as school forms and letters
- Utilize ambulatory care skills and electronic health record systems (EPIC preferred) for optimal patient care coordination
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current RN licensure with experience in Endoscopy or GI Lab nursing
- Ambulatory care background is highly beneficial
- Familiarity with diabetes care protocols and insulin management
- Experience working collaboratively in a fast-paced outpatient clinic environment
- Proficiency or willingness to learn EPIC electronic medical records system
