A nursing professional with expertise in Endoscopy care is needed for a dynamic healthcare setting focused on diabetes and endocrine disorders. This contract position, based in Houston, TX, offers an opportunity to contribute to a multidisciplinary team supporting a high-volume clinic. The environment emphasizes patient-centered care, collaboration, and a supportive clinical workflow.
Schedule / Hours:
- Monday-Friday
- Options available: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM (4-day rotation within the Monday-Friday workweek)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care in an Endoscopy/GI Lab setting, supporting patient procedures and recovery.
- Assist with diabetes and endocrine patient management including insulin administration and management of hyperglycemia/hypoglycemia.
- Conduct patient education on basic internal medicine topics and diabetes management using Pulse teaching techniques.
- Collaborate with Medical Assistants and providers to manage clinical workflow and patient calls.
- Perform triage for symptom calls, prior authorizations, and lab result communication.
- Support documentation needs such as school forms and letters.
- Utilize ambulatory care skills and possibly EPIC electronic health record systems to enhance patient care efficiency.
Desired Qualifications / Experience:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license with experience in Endoscopy and GI Lab settings.
- Practical knowledge of diabetes management and ambulatory care nursing.
- Ability to manage high patient volume efficiently with excellent communication skills.
- Experience with EPIC or similar electronic medical records preferred.
