Deliver expert emergency nursing care in a dynamic, fast-paced urban emergency department serving a high volume of diverse patients. This contract opportunity offers a chance to work 12-hour night shifts with a focus on critical patient care and flexible assignments across adult, psychiatric, and pediatric emergency settings.

Schedule:

  • 48-hour shifts
  • 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • Every other weekend and holiday coverage
  • Four 12-hour shifts per contract period

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and adolescent patients (age 15+ in Pediatrics)
  • Float between emergency, psychiatric, and pediatric ED areas as needed
  • Independently interpret telemetry rhythms, identify heart blocks, and pass a telemetry test on Day 1 with a score of 85% or higher
  • Manage patient loads of 4 to 5 per nurse based on acuity levels
  • Work efficiently in a very busy emergency department with up to 120 treatment areas and 350-440 patients daily
  • Maintain compliance with required certifications and protocols

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1.5 years recent experience in Level I or II Emergency Department
  • Or 2+ years recent experience in Level 3/4 Emergency Department
  • Active and unexpired certifications: TNCC, BLS, ACLS
  • Proven ability to read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips independently
  • Preferred experience with EPIC electronic health record, previous travel nursing assignments, and critical care exposure
