Providing expert care in a fast-paced emergency environment, this nursing role demands clinical skill, critical thinking, and compassionate patient interaction. Working within an emergency department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care that meets the physical and psychosocial needs of patients while collaborating effectively with physicians, mid-level providers, and healthcare teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and indirect patient care in the emergency department setting with professionalism and minimal supervision.
- Triage patients promptly and accurately based on physical condition and psychosocial factors.
- Communicate patient status changes, diagnostic results, and symptomology effectively to physicians and mid-level providers.
- Respond swiftly to variations in patient conditions or treatment responses.
- Coordinate with emergency department techs, registration staff, and allied health staff to ensure smooth patient flow.
- Follow directives from the Emergency Department Director and medical providers.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree from an accredited nursing program required; Bachelor of Nursing and Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years emergency room nursing experience.
- Current RN license in Montana.
- Certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC required or to be obtained within 6 months of hire.
- Proficient in emergency nursing principles, IV skills, and operating manual/electronic medical equipment.
- Strong assessment, communication, and basic computer skills.
Schedule:
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (11am-11pm), including some weekends.
