An opportunity is available for a skilled Registered Nurse with Emergency Department experience to provide critical care in a dynamic healthcare environment. This contract role focuses on delivering high-quality nursing care to patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric with diverse conditions including trauma stabilization, cardiac events, respiratory illnesses, behavioral health issues, and more.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care in the Emergency Department, including cardiac rhythm monitoring, administration of critical care drips, PIV starts, conscious sedation, and medication administration.
  • Manage patient care across a diverse case mix including trauma, stroke, acute MI, respiratory distress, and behavioral health.
  • Participate in floating assignments across multiple sites within the regional health system as needed.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, social workers, respiratory therapists, and pharmacists to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Utilize EMR (EPIC), and support equipment such as IV pumps, med dispensing systems, and patient monitors proficiently.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Valid RN license with a minimum of 2 years Emergency Department nursing experience
  • Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI; TNCC preferred
  • Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation, critical care infusion management, TNK/TPA administration, and conscious sedation
  • Comfortable with floating across region facilities and managing varying patient acuity levels

Schedule

  • 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • Every other weekend rotation
  • Travelers expected to work approximately 75% of holidays
